Jessy Mendiola is the Pinay Maria Mercedes! She will make us all fall in love starting this October 7 in ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida. This is in line of the network's celebration of 60years in television. Jessy stars with Jake Cuenca, Jason Abalos, Nikki Gil and a lot more! I am pretty sure how the Mexican version of Maria Mercedes by the one and only Thalia was loved by Filipinos. It was an extreme hit! Now as Jessy gives her own version of Thalia, we will surely see her bloom!
Jessy's character will be facing different love angles with gorgeous men like Jake Cuenca and Jason Abalos. Jake said that this is Jessy's break and he is behind her to give support all the way. Jake said that Jessy has smitten him in a way that whenever he's around her, his confidence level goes down. He is intimidated by her beauty and personality. Jason and Jessy on the other hand has been real good friends that's why they said that it's easy to work with each other.
Adding to the spice of the show is the villain Mystica played by Nikki Gil. She promised that her character has a different attack than the usual kontabidas we have already seen. Nikki said that her character has depth in portrayal and has reasonable root cause of evil. Surely I'm excited to see her back on TV drama!
It was promised by the creative team that this modern Maria Mercedes, will make us laugh, cry and fall in love! Jessy wants to embody Maria Mercedes in each Filipina, strong-willed and determined but at the same time loving and tender. Jessy has truly owned up to her character! It is exciting how the show will fire-up our weeknights teleserye habits!
