The bloggers had the chance to chit-chat with Erich about the movie. When she arrived, I learned that she just celebrated her birthday last Sept. 20! All of us even sang a quick happy birthday song for her! :) This was Erich's 2nd blog-con since Corazon Ang Unang Aswang. I was not part of the first one, so this is the first time I ever had a personal encounter with her. I like Erich, honestly I love her team up with Enchong Dee since Katorse. Avid Liongoren a Filipino Artist from Outer Space!

"I exist to create different things to relate to different people."
-Avid Liongoren

This is a pure personal blog post, not a promo, not a press release, not an event.

AVID LIONGOREN.. visual artiste extraordinaire, mmm.. where and when did I first heard his name? Ah! I kinda remember, it was with Yeng Constantino's music video for Time In, which if I'm not mistaken, was around 2007.

I don't know Avid personally but I totally admire his works, whenever I see one, I was totally wowed. Everytime. So I decided to feature a quick taste of his works here in my blog, to show appreciation in his own works of art.

Avid is an illustrator (he draws mostly monsters and weird looking creatures but it's totally amusing) and a director, mostly of TV ads, animations, feaure/short films and of course, music videos. Talking about creativity eh?!

On his illustrations and "dorwings", I wanted you to see for yourself so I will feature 3 of them, randomly picked, because I am totally having a hard time to pick a favorite!

A part of his project 365 in 2007 (06-05-07)

Gloc-9 MKNM (Mga Kwento Ng Makata) - poetry and music fusion!

I am a true blooded rock music lover. I love rock, but not too hardcore. I love bands. I love the sound of guitars and drums together. Hiphop and rap is not my thing. But, there is one rapper who already got me hooked in his music since I first heard his song "Simpleng Tao". Yes, GLOC-9!
Rap is his game and he's so good at it. Now Gloc-9 is the leading premiere rapper of the Philippines! After 5 successful albums, he is still on track now with his newly released 6th album MKNM (Mga Kwento ng Makata) this time under Universal Records. Gloc-9 is proud of this new record and even said that it took him six months to work on it. He is ultimately satisfied with the album which includes collaborations with some of the greatest acts in the Philippine music scene like Chito Miranda, Bamboo, Ebe Dancel, Jay Durias, Billy Crawford, Cathy Go, etc. Gloc-9 is thankful to Universal Records and said that he is looking forward to do more projects with his new label. Universal Records, on the other hand, claimed that they are proud of Gloc-9 because aside from his own successful album, he is a part of the BIG success of two other album releases that's on the charts from Parokya ni Edgar and Noel Cabangon, which he collaborated with.

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo as JD and Sari in THE MISTRESS!

Great love comes with hope. – The Mistress
A film directed by no other than Olivia M. Lamasan
from Star Cinema that's coming soon in theaters near you this September 12, 2012.

In celebration of 10 successful years of being on-screen partners, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, is now up with a more aggressive and brave big movie project for all their loyal supporters.  Opening them both to more mature roles, The Mistress tackles sensitive family issues about love and fidelity. Olivia Lamasan said that looking back 10 years ago, she was actually one of the people who formed the John Lloyd-Bea tandem which made her so excited about doing this film. Way back then, the two was already oozing with chemistry. No doubt, that pairing them up was a great decision because they are one of the best love teams around. Even their team up is mainly on-screen and not to the extent of being a real life couple; JLC and Bea's working relationship as two of the main brilliant actors of our generation is enough to get a strong grip of thousands and thousands of supporters across the country. Both of them admits that their partnership helped in molding their showbiz career as years go by. This movie project only makes a statement: The John Lloyd - Bea tandem is here to stay, more stronger than ever. A big hooray to their long time fanatics! :)

Parokya ni Edgar: Inuman Sessions Volume 2 out now!

Parokya ni Edgar has been around the music industry for almost 20 years now, earning them fame and countless hit songs. A true OPM icon, the band consists of Gab, Dindin, Darius, Buwi, Vinci and Chito is holding on strong, having the original 6 members all through the years. When asked on what is keeping the band solid, Chito said that they simply love what they do "Hindi kami mga musikero" Chito explained, "Gusto lang naming mag-banda". It's hard to keep up with a great career in the local music industry for 20 long years! But Parokya ni Edgar's witty, funny, honest and catchy music made it easy for the band to have a tight grip from listeners of different generations. "Kung mapapansin nyo yung mga kanta namin, based on experiences lang talaga.", Chito said that their sound is what they can offer and they don't have a plan in changing their kind of music. I'm sure that their fans and supporters are happy for it.
Now, as a follow-up to the phenomenal hit album Inuman Sessions Vol.1.. eight years ago, the band released the aptly titled Inuman Sessions Vol.2, under Universal Records in CD only and DVD with bonus CD formats.

Bwakaw: In theaters September 5!

The Cinemalaya Box Office Hit BWAKAW is set for commercial release this September 5, 2012 (Wednesday) on all leading cinemas!

Bwakaw is an indie film directed by Jun Robles Lana, co-produced by Cinemalaya, Tony Tuviera, and TV5 but will be distributed on mainstream by Star Cinema.

Before we go to the movie itself, let me just brag some on Bwakaw's achievement in the concluded Cinemalaya 2012 awards. They bagged the "Audience Choice", "NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema) Award", and the "Best Actor" for Eddie Garcia. It also earned nods from globally renowned movie fests including the Toronto International Film Festival and New York Film Festival. No doubt that the movie was rated ‘A’ by the Cinema Evalution Board (CEB). Truly, a film that has a lot to be proud of.

Bryan Termulo The 2nd Encounter!

Bryan Termulo together with BWB Records, Pinoy Magazine and Lion HearTV held an exclusive blog-con at Moomba bar and restaurant last Aug 13 in accordance of Bryan's sophomore album Hanggang Ngayon.
A second encounter indeed. This time, I was able to get to know more of Bryan and was able to be mesmerized by his talent... again!

Bryan's sweet voice will surely win you over. His passion to his craft is obvious. And with the trust and support given to him by ABS-CBN, he'll surely surpass the heights. Bryan shared that he just recently recorded another tv series theme song and will be heard soon! That definitely added some factor for him to further own the title: "Prince of Teleserye Theme Songs". And he will also be in a Teleserye himself, he is a part of the upcoming drama series, Against All Odds. He is lined-up with a powerhouse cast including Sam Milby, KC Concepcion, John Estrada, Mylene Dizon, Jessy Mendiola, Joseph Marco, Mr. Tirso Cruz III, Ms. Coney Reyes and 'The Queen of Teleserye' herself... Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo. It is surely a must-watch for all the drama series followers out there!

Parokya ni Edgar Inuman Sessions Vol2 launch: record breaking!

Parokya ni Edgar is not just a band, but a home grown icon for the OPM industry. Timelessly classic as I may say, their hit songs are known not just by ears, but by hearts. Who would disagree to that?! Needless to say, Parokya ni Edgar's newest release: Inuman Sessions Volume 2 from Universal Records is much anticipated.

Last Aug 24, they held an album launch at Eastwood City Central Plaza. Despite the rain, the traffic and all other sorts of hindrances, Parokya never fails to pull the crowd, filling up and going over the venue capacity of 1,500 people and more to that, breaking records of album sales! The album was sold up until they already lack receipts! Imagine that huh?! It was almost like a sold-out concert! There are still some who wasn't able to get a copy of the album and wasn't able to go inside the fences of the main venue.  The crowd is wild! With that being said, it is truly obvious, Parokya ni Edgar was missed!

Callalily's PASASALAMAT

As a tribute to their loyal supporters dubbed as "Callalistas" for the 7 fruitful years they had supported the band in the recording industry, Callalily released their newest single PASASALAMAT.

The band is composed of Kean Cipriano, Tatsi Jamnague, Aaron Ricafrente and Lemuel Belaro. “We have all the reasons to be thankful,” says frontman Kean Cipriano. “Seven years into the business and we are still here. We are grateful. Plus, we are with a new label Universal Records.”

Callalily is set to release a new album this September, following the success of Destination XYZ and Fisheye, and a first under Universal Records.

But to give us a taste of it.. we can download Pasasalamat FULL SONG here: http://www.mymusicstore.com.ph/music/465333/Pasasalamat.html

BRYAN TERMULO: The Prince of Teleserye Theme Songs

The young brilliant balladeer Bryan Termulo is now known for dominating the local TV teleserye theme songs! Far from being just a fruit of a singing competition, he is now ready to take on and get the spotlight!

Oh yes, now you remember.. you are right! he is the voice behind the classic OPM hit "Dadalhin" (originally popularized by the Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid) which has been the official sound track of the smashing mainstream teleserye "Walang Hanggan" which aired primetime on ABS-CBN; featuring great acts like Coco Martin, Julia Montes and Paulo Avelino. And with that being said, no doubt, the teleserye soundtrack became a platinum hit in no time! Bryan was grateful in admitting that remaking the song "Dadalhin" literally brought him to where he was now.

Bryan went out of the shell when he released his debut album Begin under BWB Records and Music Production Inc., and from there, his songs Bihag and Paano Nangyari were played in the TV series 100 Days to Heaven. He competed for World Championships of Performing Arts and won two silver medals in rock and original works and one bronze in R&B. He was nominated for "New Male Recording Artist of the Year" by the PMPC Star Awards for Music, and last 2011, he won the Awit Awards' Best Album Packaging. *here is a quick preview of his award winning album:
As of now, Bryan Termulo is a regular mainstay of ASAP 2012 alongside with Alex Castro, JM De Guzman and Markki Stroem as a group called Boys R Boys. He is really now on track! The journey to fame wasn't that easy of a trip..Bryan himself has been through the bumps and blows along the way, but there is no way to stop him now to prove that he is the next big thing. He recently released his sophomore album entitled "Hanggang Ngayon" still under BWB Records and exclusively distributed by Star records.

Binggrae: MELONA Korean Ice Cream Sandwhich and Popsicles

I have heard a lot of Pinoys are now enjoying a taste of Korea not just on Kimchis but also on ICE CREAMS!
So I searched about this famous Melona K-Pop (Korea Popsicles) and found out that it is from Binggrae. They brought the Korean ice cream goodness here in the Philippines! Now, I think we will be hooked, not on  koreanovelas but also on Korean ice creams!

I badly wanted to try out this Melona ice cream because everyone is saying only good things about it, but I didn't have any luck in finding one.. I don't know where to get it! Until one day when I was with my office mates as we are headed to a team GA, I finally found the answer to my curiosity:

Masan (Korean and Japanese) Grocery in Farmer's Market Cubao...

I didn't had the chance to buy one and taste it that time since we were off to somewhere. But I am happy that I was able to find a Korean store somewhere near!
