A magical chit-chat with Suddenly It's Magic writer Vanessa Valdez

I was one of the few who was given a chance to sit down, and chit-chat with the "box-office" writer Ms. Vanessa Valdez through a special blogger's conference in Star Cinema's office. She is the writer of the famed film, The Mistress. Yes, the John Lloyd Cruz- Bea Alonzo movie which blew us all away last month.

This time, we talked about the newest offering of Star Cinema, Suddenly It's Magic. The first Thai-Pinoy film directed by one of the greatest, Rory B. Quintos. The talk was really unique because it is in a writer's point-of-view and insights rooting back since the start of the movie project.

The Making:

Ms. Van revealed that she wrote the story for Suddenly It's Magic even before The Mistress. She said that Enrico Santos called her and said that she needs to finish the script in 10 days! She told us that the story itself originated from sir Enrico. The movie project started out that the main characters are already determined to be Mario Maurer and Erich Gonzales.

Now the biggest local hit movie of 2012, THE MISTRESS!

An Olivia Lamasan film starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, what do you expect? Of course! A true box-office success! The Mistress is truly anticipated and supported nationwide! It opened for around 200 cinemas last September 12 and I'm claiming that it was jam-packed! Now on it's third week, The Mistress still continues to sweep it! Congratulations to Star Cinema and to everyone behind it!

Have you seen it? If not, you are totally missing out the latest talk of the town! Beautifully crafted, superb portrayals and a quality movie. Give the movie a chance to speak for itself. I will never fail you.

As of September 23, The Mistress already earned 186,729,040 PHP! Making it the HIGHEST GROSSING MOVIE of 2012 (so far).

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo as JD and Sari in THE MISTRESS!

Great love comes with hope. – The Mistress
A film directed by no other than Olivia M. Lamasan
from Star Cinema that's coming soon in theaters near you this September 12, 2012.

In celebration of 10 successful years of being on-screen partners, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, is now up with a more aggressive and brave big movie project for all their loyal supporters.  Opening them both to more mature roles, The Mistress tackles sensitive family issues about love and fidelity. Olivia Lamasan said that looking back 10 years ago, she was actually one of the people who formed the John Lloyd-Bea tandem which made her so excited about doing this film. Way back then, the two was already oozing with chemistry. No doubt, that pairing them up was a great decision because they are one of the best love teams around. Even their team up is mainly on-screen and not to the extent of being a real life couple; JLC and Bea's working relationship as two of the main brilliant actors of our generation is enough to get a strong grip of thousands and thousands of supporters across the country. Both of them admits that their partnership helped in molding their showbiz career as years go by. This movie project only makes a statement: The John Lloyd - Bea tandem is here to stay, more stronger than ever. A big hooray to their long time fanatics! :)
