The biggest gathering of Kapamilya stars in Europe happened last July 19 and 20 at the Apps Court Farm near Hampton Court Palace in London, United Kingdom dubbed as "2014 Barrio Fiesta sa London" as a grand celebration of The Filipino Channel's (TFC) 20th anniversary and the Philippine's Centre's 30th.
Through the years, Barrio Fiesta sa London has been the most anticipated event by our fellow Filipinos. With the goal to be an event to elevate Filipino's culture and bringing our kababayan's hearts closer to home, TFC and Philippine Centre's partnership has been a consistent success.
Present in the said big event was ABS-CBN Corporation President and Chief Operating Officer Charo Santos – Concio. She was joined by other ABS-CBN executives including Star Cinema Managing Director Malou Santos and ABS-CBN Regional News Bureau Chief Danny Buenafe.
The ensemble of Kapamilya stars was led by TFC Ambassador Mr. Gary Valenciano who generously gave his performances with "pure energy" singing his hit songs.
Pokwang also perfomed and gave the crowd a good laugh while role playing as Darna and Supergirl.
The Teen King and Queen Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla gave an overdose of
kilig as they graced the stage. Kathryn sang Jessie J's "Pricetag" and Daniel sang Rey Valera's hit song "
Ayos Lang" - then they sang a duet of "Till I Met You" (theme song of their massive hit movie She's Dating The Gangster) which draws screams from the
kilig-filled crowd!
Jessy Mendiola, relived her inner Maria Mercedes is an sizzling sing and dance number! Getting Ohh-la-la from the audience!
The dashing hunk Sam Milby received shrieks as he serenaded our Kapamilyas in his acoustic number and band medley.
Charming the crowd with a boy band medley, heartthrob Enchong Dee gave an all out performance complete with costume changes.
On the 2nd day of the Barrio Fiesta sa London, Gary V was joined by Pokwang, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo for a second round.
Shaina Magdayao and Rayver Cruz teamed-up for an explosive supah-dance number of "Hangover" by PSY and Snoopdog. Shaina also sang "Stay The Night" by Zedd feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore and "Take Me Home" by Cash Cash.
Mirabella lead stars Enrique Gil and Julia Barretto also graced the big event. Enrique danced his way to the crowd's hearts to the tune of "Timber" by Pitbull and Kesha. Julia, on the other hand, sang a Jamie Rivera hit entitled I've Fallen For You.
The grand Pinoy event was indeed not just for fun but also for a great cause, the Philippine Centre turned over a donation of GBP3,000 for ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya, a program dedicated to relief operations during calamities and rehabilitation projects.
Every year, TFC and Philippine Centre bring Filipinos in UK and nearby countries together and become purveyors of the best of the Filipino, all in the spirit of community and in honor of the ‘Galing ng Filipino.’
