MsMightyMau Missing In Action? Part 1: Leaving Dubai...

Alright, I know that this blog has been idle for a long time now... And I do admit that I have been an unproductive blogger since August of 2015... I always say that I miss blogging but I haven't done anything to even draft a page... Well, I have been missing in action and I think I owe an explanation here in my blog... So to those peeps who missed me, this 2-part-blog-special is for you..

Let's get started...

My Dubai Life

Okay, so I went to Dubai way back April of 2014. Well, to be honest, going to Dubai was not my own choice.. My mom had requested for me to fly to Dubai to help in providing for our family's financial needs. It's totally fine, I'm not against it... but I'm not happy about it as well. At that time, I was having too much fun as a blogger, seriously, I'm having a grand time... However, I do understand that flying to Dubai is supposed to help for our family's future so I decided to give in...

The good part is, that I was with mom.. See, she spent a little over 12 years in Dubai already.. Flying to Dubai means being with her, so it's not that bad at all.. I was able to get a job fairly fast as a secretary in a trading company, and mom and I were not having a hard time to make ends meet for our family.. But then, come March 2015, mom and I had decided that it's about time for her to explore other options than be stuck in Dubai for more years... An opportunity came for her to transfer to New Zealand...

Well, I know it is for the better in the long run. But it was sad to be left alone. Being alone is not new to me though... I have always been independent and responsible on my own but it's just a little sad that mom and I had to be far away from each other again. I tried to make it work, but Dubai without mom is really an empty place... Good thing I do have friends (Well, a lot of friends actually) that's why I was able to hold on a little longer... But sometimes, things doesn't go as you planned.

It came to a point where I have encountered major financial difficulties in Dubai. Let's just say that I have work but it's hard to get paid... Unlucky me, eh? Anyways, it came to a point that I can't handle it anymore, that's why I had to give up Dubai...

What I miss in Dubai...

Missing Dubai? Yes of course! Dubai is a stunner! There's so much to love about Dubai. But its more fun in the Philippines nga di ba? Hahaha! But I still decided to write down a few things that I do miss about Dubai...

1. Burj Khalifa
The tallest building is the first thing that popped in my mind when thinking about Dubai.. I always see it from a far while riding a bus on my way home every night!

2. Shawarma
I don't like Arabic or Indian food, but I do love Dubai's authentic shawarmas! L-O-V-E!

3. Ramadan Office Hours
Shortened office hours for the entire Ramadan period. Early out! Woohoo! :)

4. Satwa
I definitely miss the busy streets of Satwa, Duba. Some taxi drivers in Dubai call Satwa the "Little Manila", this is because there a lot of Filipinos living in Satwa sharing rooms in residential flats and villas.

5. My 2nd family, my dearest friends...
Of course, it's harder to leave the people than the place behind. I found a 2nd family with my ALDUB Middle East, ALDENatics UAE and MAINEnatics UAE fan group and I do have a bunch of true friends as well outside of ALDUB... and it's hard for me to let go of our strong bond, but I had to.. To my dearest friends in Dubai, I miss you all, I really do.

Never have I thought that what started as a joke, became one big, strong and happy family that continues to uphold values that we earn from our loves Alden and Maine and the entire Eat Bulaga team.

Our FANmily was my pride and joy in Dubai. We were able to surpass trials and succeed in our projects as a team. There's ups and downs but I am proud to say that we were able to stand the tests and up until now, we are holding on too strong with the love we have for each other as a family. Ibang klase talaga. Well, some people may come and go, but those who stayed are the ones who really matter most. I thank each and everyone for the trust you have given me. It was such a pleasure to lead you all to greatness. We are different, because we are one... ALDUB ME, ALDENatics UAE and MAINEnatics UAE is united for the love of ALDUB and for the love of each other.

I am grateful to all of my dedicated admins and members who stayed and who are willing to keep the flame burning for our family... I know it is hard without me, and it gets harder when I'm really too busy. But please do know that you touched my life in so many ways... ( a big bonus was I even developed a talent because of you guys: a talent to remember names easily.) HAHAHA!

New Source of Happiness: ALDUB

Well, as you may all know, they are the latest sensational, extraordinary and unparalleled love team in Philippine Showbiz. Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub gained massive attention from the avid viewers of the longest running noontime show, Eat Bulaga. It was a little over a month ago when the two "accidentally" exposed an overflowing chemistry on live TV. It was something that was unexpected, yet it was very special and full of potential... There you go, ALDUB was born. Since then, their loveteam's popularity skyrocketed. Wala nang makakapigil sa ALDUB. They simply dubsmashed their way to the hearts of  the viewers across the world.

I am aware of the fact that the ALDUB fever is on widespread. I mean, c'mon, they are literally EVERYWHERE... on TV, newspapers, magazines, websites, and they are dominating all social media platforms. Everyone is hooked with their Kalyeserye. Everyone is anticipating for the tamang panahon when Alden and Maine will finally meet-up and see each other face to face. But let me make it clear that I am not writing a blog entry just to ride on the ALDUB craze. I am blogging now as a proud fan. YES. I AM AN ALDUB FAN.

Being a fan is not a new thing for me, I have had my fair share of fangirl-ing moments before to a very special person I consider as my idol and my mentor in life since then until now. However fangirl-ing shifted to being a showbiz blogger. My short stint in showbiz blogging "somehow" ended when I flew to live and work here in Dubai, UAE. Never have I imagined that I will go back to my old self of being a fan. But when ALDUB came, hindi ko na natiis, hindi ko na napigilan. ALDUB is my new source of happiness. Sobrang saya sa puso. ALDUB gives me an overflowing feeling of kilig that I can't even contain. And my love for both Alden and Maine only intensifies as days goes by. I remember it was ALDUB's 2nd weeksary when we decided to put up their fansclub: ALDUB Middle East for supporters from this part of the world.

Allow me to get into details. Let's put the spotlight first to the Dubsmash Queen herself, Maine Mendoza. I love her. I really do. She is HILARIOUS. From the very beginning I have watched most of her dubsmash videos scattered all over the internet. Maine is fresh, funny and fascinating. Her comedic wit was exceptional. When I saw her on Eat Bulaga for the very first time I said to myself: "bagay na bagay sya sa TV." She's perfect to be a Dabarkads.

Another thing admirable with Maine is her total personality. I would dare to compare her with Ms. Anne Curtis, you see... Maine is from the "sosyal" class, she's intelligent, she's also from a rich and beautiful family. Yet, she has maintained her "masa" appeal because of Yaya Dub, she's funny, simple and walang arte. People from different walks of life and from all ages adores both sides of her. She was our modern day Cinderella and her life (on and off cam) was our fairytale. MAINEnamahal kita Yaya Dub! Salamat sa araw-araw na saya na iyong dala!

The other half of ALDUB is not new to me. Alden Richards is one of the few celebrities closest to my heart. I have been seeing Alden often around GMA before, but it was with his 2012 TV series One True Love that I began to notice him. His role as Tisoy was so memorable to me. To be honest, I am not an avid viewer of OTL back then, but there was this one dramatic scene where Alden made me cry. And from then on, I admired Alden's talent. He's obviously good looking, and I know that the dimple is so irresistible. For me, he is one of Kapuso's ace celebrities, but let's all admit that Alden only has a stable but not so outstanding star status in the entirety of showbiz back then. But now, he is the one of the HOTTEST and MOST IN DEMAND star! Just WOW! I am still in awe every time I see the crowd going wild over him on Eat Bulaga! He is, indeed, the ULTIMATE BAE! Eat Bulaga and the ALDUB Kalyeserye craze should take credit in pushing Alden's name to the top, side by side or even surpassing some of the young leading men in Showbiz nowadays and it all happened so fast!

Adding to being a fan of his acting talent, I am proud to say that Alden has evolved to a total package. He can dance, he can sing, he is good in hosting and now, he is superb in comedy as well. Alden Richards is more than just a man with a pretty face. He is a man of substance and a man of depth. He is one of the sweetest and most humble celebrity I ever encounter. I am proud to be supporting him both as a blogger and as a fan. MaALDEN kita TISOY, noon at lalo na ngayon.

ALDUB is now a part of my daily routine. After a long day at work, ALDUB is my stress reliever. Watching Kalyeserye replays at night can take all the worries and problems away. In every episode, you will laugh... cry...  laugh again... cry again... and laugh even harder! Ugh! Every episode is so unpredictable, breath-taking and heart-stopping. Every episode is a must-watch! ALDUB is life changing, seriously! And I know that many will agree on how ALDUB seems so perfect for each other. A true match MaiDen heaven! Destiny brought them together. And if ever a time comes when reel becomes real I will be one of the happiest.

So, to Alden and Maine, if ever you are reading this, I want to say THANK YOU for the happiness that you are imparting in my life. I promise to support you both as a team and as individuals. I know that we're just starting on this journey, and I (along with your massive supporters across the globe) got your back. ALDUB YOU BOTH! 

P.S. If ever Alden and Maine is actually READING this, I will seriously faint! Hahaha!

WELCOME BACK TO BLOGGING MS. MIGHTYMAU!

Five months. Yes, it has been five months since I last posted an update in this blog. A long hibernation period for this blog site. Well there was nothing special going on with my personal life. I am busy yes, but it was a normal boring life.

Unlike before, back in the Philippines, there are a lot of things to write about. Events to cover, artists to interview, products to review, and the list goes on. So being a blogger was hectic, exciting and fun. But when I transferred here in Dubai, everything has changed. I am now living a corporate life, I am an office secretary and everything was in a routine. My life revolves at home, in the office and in my fitness gym. (Yes. I am working out, to burn the baby fats. Hahaha.) Far from what I was used to back home. And I badly miss it. Though, to be honest, I have tried to maintain a blogger status here in Dubai by promoting a few Pinoy shows here and there.

So what (or should I say who?) inspired me to go back to blogging? It's Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub! (And if ever she's reading this... Hi Maine.. I'm a FAN..) As you may know, she's the latest phenomenal star in the Philippines. So anyways, I loved her even more when I discovered that she's also a blogger. Erich Gonzales as Janine Arguello: The Fierce Kontrabida and Heart-piercing Bida

We now bid goodbye to the Pinoy adaptation of Two Wives, but let me say that it ended on a high note. It is indeed a talked-about and well-loved TV series on the entirety of it's run. Well, I was not surprised because I know how beautiful the story is, I also know that the entire cast is beyond brilliant. Two Wives has given that intense kick to our Primetime viewing experience. I know everyone will agree that this teleserye was one thrilling roller-coaster ride (in a very good way). That's why we all got hooked! I would like to deeply congratulate ABS-CBN, Direk Ruel Bayani, Direk FM Reyes, the entire production staff, the amazing actors and everyone behind the making of this series! A big thumbs up for you!

But this blogpost is especially dedicated to recognize the outstanding performance of my ever favorite actress, Ms. Erich Gonzales in portraying the bida-kontrabida role of Janine Arguello, Victor's second wife.

In social media, every weeknights, people are loving to hate on Janine in the series, that is a clear proof  of how effective Erich is for the role. Thus, making Janine a trending topic again and again. Janine is definitely one fierce kontrabida to remember!

Here is a recap of some memorable Fierce Kontrabida scenes of Janine:

Yvonne and Janine clashed in this memorable scene where Yvonne surprised Janine and Victor of an Annulment Celebration. The two wives had a confrontation that lead to an intense brawl. Janine left a mark with the winning line: "Ako na ang mahal ni Victor at hindi ikaw.. Wag kang bitter!"

Ooohhhlala! This is one sizzling scene indeed! This is one of my favorite, because Erich effortlessly flaunted on this scene for Janine. Janine said: "Hindi ba ikaw ang nasobrahan ng kape? Dahil sa tuwing nakikita mo ako, nanginginig ka!" Janine makes Yvonne tremble! This is when Yvonne had realized all the reasons why Victor chose Janine over her... I mean... Can anyone say 'no' to that beauty?

When the lives of the Two Wives were turned upside-down, when the mistress became the wife and the wife became the mistress, Janine said: "May the best kabit win!" And that marks as her declaration of war! Oh myyy...

This scene is definitely gripping! Erich was wickedly effective on this scene! No nasty lines, no catfights, no heavy confrontation... but that look.. you never know what's going on in her head but all you can tell is: "Uh-oh, this isn't good." Sneaky Janine! And I also loved the way she did her evil laugh towards the end of this scene! Winner!

This scene is a treat! This is what we can call as an acting inception... Erich acting as Janine and Janine acting in an apologetic break down scene in front of Yvonne and Victor, topped with begging on her knees for forgiveness.. Only for us to find out that she was faking it! Good job! Clap, clap clap!

On the other hand, Janine is also a rightful BIDA of the show. I am well aware that Yvonne (Kaye Abad's character) has won the sympathy of the viewers, but let me remind everybody that Janinehas her own bida moments that touched our hearts. She may have done things that are extremely unfavorable, she may have even crossed the line of insanity at some point but to her defense, she did everything out of love. And if fighting for the one you love is a crime, then let's proclaim her guilty. I must say that Erich Gonzales, gave her fair share of heart-piercing scenes making Janine's character tender, fragile and vulnerable.

Now here's a flashback of Janine's Heart-piercing Bida Moments:
When the blame was on Janine for Victor's accident. Her toughness was melted, instead we witnessed a pleading and begging Janine. This simply brought me to tears!

Who can forget this heavy scene? It was Janine and Victor's confrontation scene right after the funeral of their unborn child. This scene was so intense, Erich was on another gripping performance. Janine was wrecked but she swears to fight all the way for her revenge.

Erich showcased a heartbreaking scene of a mother's love. Janine was never given a chance to show her unconditional love to her unborn child. This is a tender scene, full of heartwarming emotions. An effortless tearjerker.

When Victor finally regained his memory, he went to see Janine... but not to get back to her, but to finally tell her that he chose to stay with Yvonne. This is one of the most painful episode for all of us Team Janine. That full eleven minutes of confrontation between Victor and Janine, where Erich definitely gave her all. For me, this is an award-winning level performance. Janine, crying out, begging for Victor to stay.. She was totally ruined by her greatest love... This agonizing scene heightened the show! This is when everyone had witnessed the true passion of Erich Gonzales for her craft. Exeptional indeed!
Yvonne and Janine, holding each of Victor's hands as he said his last piece. He was able to say sorry, thank you and goodbye to the Two Wives. Erich and Kaye were both remarkable in this scene. They gave a fair share of overflowing feels for this very sad moment. After everything, love still prevails for Janine, she said: "Victor wag mong gawin sa'min 'to... Victor parang awa mo na..." This time, Janine was proven to be equal to Yvonne. They were equally loved, equally betrayed, equally hurt by the same man.

I am a proud member of Team Janine from start til end. Ms. Erich Gonzales dominated primetime again with a role that was really different from what she has offered before. I would like to commend her for being one of the best bida and kontrabida that Philippine TV ever had! The scenes shared on this blog post are only a few of her highlights but I am telling you whenever Erich is on the scene, you will definitely be left in awe by how she portrays Janine. She never fell short of emotions, instead she gave her emotions so generously that viewers can't help themselves but to be carried away by her acting prowess!

I am praying for more projects for this brilliant home-grown Kapamilya actress after Two Wives. Ms. Erich deserves the spotlight. More people should feel, witness and experience that Erich Gonzales MAGIC!
