In case you don't know (which I doubt), Callalily is Kean Cipriano (vocals and rythms), Tatsi Jamnague (lead), Aaron Ricafrente (bass) and Lemuel Belaro (drums). The band emerged in the local music scene with the release of their first album Destination XYZ in 2006, followed by Fisheye in 2008 and Callalily (self-titled album) last 2009. They earned a spot on OPM as one of the most in demand bands! And now they are back in the game after 3 years with Flower Power under Universal Records featuring the single "Pasasalamat".
Last October 12, Callalily gathered their army of Callalistas for the album launch of Flower Power in Eastwood City Plaza. The event was a huge success. The band filled the whole plaza with their overflowing energy! The astounding show kept all of us at the highest hype! Everyone was able to grab a copy of the album before it was out on the shelves of record bars!
The band had a great repertoire of songs for the special night. They sang their new songs from the album and some good tracks from the past records they had. 12 songs in total for a one of a kind Callalily mini-concert experience! If you are not there, too bad you truly missed out!

Flower Power Album Review:
Alright, where do I begin? I think I will start by saying that this album is fresh! The album photos are shot in fields of green. The packaging itself is refreshing. 3 years in the making totally heightened up my expectations on the contents, but with 10 originals? Come on! The album already impressed me.
Let's go down to business, a track-by-track. Pasasalamat, standing as the featured single kicked-off the album. The song as said was dedicated for all the Callalistas for their undying love and support. Giving back by putting it in a song is totally a thumbs up! No wonder why the Callalistas love the band. 2nd track was Sabik Na Sabik. It has a feel good vibe on its music. And the lyrics is about yearning for your love. Next is HKM, a song about the people in our lives who's already in heaven. Kean shared last Callalily blogcon that this is about a person he missed the most in a certain point in his life. This song even made him cry while recording it. The bass lines in the song's intro is heart pounding. 4th is Lapit. This one of my best picks on the record. The lyrics is so honest. Solemn and true. This is a perfect moving on song. If you are trying to mend a broken heart, play this track. On the other hand, Buhay will keep you on a buzz! I love how this song can be stuck in your head. Honestly, sometimes I am singing this, and I am unaware that I am singing it. The song's message is also inspiring. I will pass the LSS to you, watch this video:
The band never failed me. Flower Power has exceeded my expectations. This is a true fruit of their love for the craft. The songs as said was the best card of each band member and I agree that all the songs are worthy to be recorded and compiled in an album. Flower Power is a screaming statement that Callalily is here to stay for more. I am totally surprised how the band have grown far from what they were before musically, on a positive way. And in growth they kept their genuine touch and style on their music. Their music is heartfelt.
So grab a copy of Flower Power because you will be left behind if you dont!
