If You Don't Know Who Arthur Nery Is... You Are Totally Missing Out | Love OPM

Where have I been?
Why did I totally missed this one heck of a performer named Arthur Nery?

As I said, if you don't know who Arthur Nery is... then, you're totally missing out!

I found out about Arthur Nery literally just 2 weeks ago - on YouTube - and since then,  I spent nights devouring his music on Spotify, and I just can't stop.

But today, it just hit me, that I needed to share his music to others too. Even if I'm pretty sure that I have a smaller audience reach than him.. haha!

But his music is just sooo sooo sooo good to enjoy on my own - so I just had to blog about it. 😁

So, I honestly barely know the guy - but all I know is.. he's one heck of a talent.
But here are some little things I know about him so far -
(disclaimer: these are internet ready infos only haha)
  • Arthur Nery has released his album Letters Never Sent last 2019
  • He's from Cagayan De Oro
  • He's a former call center agent (like me.. haha)
As a music fan, I would describe his music as a precious gem of jazzy and RnB fusion. His voice is this smooth & easy,  extra rich and creamy, velvety goodness. Not to mention intensely sexy too.

Well just listen to his music and I'm pretty sure you'll be charmed:

My top 3 favorite Arthur Nery songs are:
1. Higa
2. Life Puzzle
3. Cotton Candy

And mah guy Arthur also has a fresh new single which he released just last month entitled Take All The Love! I definitely have all the love for this song!
💥💥💥

So y'all know what I'm sayin' now right?

And if that isn't enough here are some live performance videos to further drag you into the magical world of Arthur Nery:

Haaay, if only we're not in a pandemic - I would have always paid to see Arthur Nery perform live.. I badly miss live shows and concerts. 😭

Anyways, if you want to get to know more about Arthur Nery you can follow him on his socials:
Spotify: Arthur Nery

As always, let's continue to love and support OPM!

Cheers!

Musician Heather Schmid Returns To Mozart For Its Healing Qualities During Turbulent Times

Press Release:

BOSTON, MA – Many have turned to music as a coping mechanism during this pandemic. Aside from Covid-19’s physical health threat, people’s mental health has suffered. The fear and uncertainty has affected all of us. Music is one universal way to handle daily stress; and Mozart's music is particularly effective in promoting healing. Realizing how much music has been healing, uplifting and revitalizing for herself, classically trained singer and musician, Heather Schmid returned to the recording studio to produce a Mozart album in hopes of providing solace for listeners.

"Mozart takes time and precision, so I soaked up the healing, relaxing music qualities to de-stress during these turbulent times. Like so many other musicians, every single show, gig, live performance, and touring opportunity was cancelled in March- dead stop, so practicing Mozart every day started as a healing balm for me. I want to share that feeling of relaxation and calm with listeners. These are difficult times and listening to Mozart is a great tool to calm the spirit and uplift the soul.”

There are many studies that proves how Classical Music can reduce stress, help you relax, and fight depression. And specifically, Mozart’s music can also help to boost your memory; make you more productive, creative and happy. As a classically trained singer herself, Heather wanted to share all of these benefits and more to the world; with her newest album: “Heather Schmid Mozart Arias" which is now available for streaming and download on all digital music platforms. It’s a special four-track album compilation of some of the most famous and most beautiful Arias from Mozart featuring Batti, Batti, O Bel Masetto and Vedrai Carino from Don Giovanni, Deh, Vieni Non Tardar from Le Nozze di Figaro and Una Donna a Quindici Anni from Così Fan Tutte.

Exploring more about the benefits of Classical music, Heather also launched an amusing and informative project called “Mozart and the Brain” – a series of videos that tackles how the brain responds to Mozart’s music – correlating to the famous term “The Mozart Effect”.

Start of a New Era!

It has been YEARS since my last post.

A lot has happened, some good, bad and great things, in my life and career. I have experienced a lot of things and looking back, I feel bad that I didn't shared any of it on this blog.

Way back 2016-2017, I attempted to blog more (emphasis on attempted.. HAHA). I changed the blog  to www.riyaction.com - hoping that it will be re-branded as a "reaction" blog. But, LIFE HAPPENS. And I ended up prioritizing different things and taking different paths. So the attempt was indeed a BIG FAIL, and this blog has been sleeping for the longest time.

But this 2021, I have decided to finally REVIVE it. -- FOR REAL.

I'm now ready to go back to one of my first love, BLOGGING. And to make it more special, I also went back to my original moniker: Ms. Mighty Mau.

Ugh. Writing this post now, makes me feel all fired-up inside. I have missed this soooo much!

But before we start a new era, let's catch-up a little bit, shall we?

Last 2017, I went to New Zealand for a vacation to be with my mom, dad, ♥ and the rest of the fam there.

Uhm, 2018 - 2020 -- I worked as an artist road manager for JONA, one of my closest friends in showbiz. Well, you may have seen her a lot on my blogs before.. and even after my last blog from 2016, I continued supporting her career especially when she moved to ABSCBN. But it was 2018 was when I officially started to work for her as a road manager.

That was such a fun and exhilarating ride. And I do cherish the entire experience.☺

---

This 2021, I am starting anew.

After having some deepest thoughts and realizations, I have gained a whole new level of self-worth. I vowed to  focus more on myself and my life this year. And with this, I want to take the chance to share as much as I can on this blog. This is a very personal space for me in the online world, where I pour out my heart and mind.

So, I want to thank YOU for reading this.

Cheers to msmightymau.com! To more blogposts and more readers!

And... HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY too! ♥

In Photos: The Queen Of The Night Jona has been crowned and she definitely wowed the crowd!

There is no denying that Jona is one of my favorite singers. More so, she is a very very very dear friend of mine and of course, I wouldn't miss her last concert for the world... Queen Of The Night Jona was her very first concert as a Kapamilya that was held last November 25, 2016 at the Kia Theatre. The show was presented by Star Events, Big Eyes Production, Creative Media Entertainment and PLDT Home. Jona wowed the crowd together with her very talented guests: Daryl Ong, Jed Madela and Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid! Queen Of The Night Jona was indeed a concert to treasure!

I know too well that Jona is a very talented singer and performer, well-deserving of the title as "QUEEN", as I have seen her on stage over and over again... But believe me, I still get goosies every single time! She has staged concerts before on smaller venues but I'm soooo proud that she staged a very successful show in a bigger venue. Well, Kia Theatre was jampacked... full of her supporters, old and new ones, who patiently waited to experience her talent once again.

I witnessed how she poured her heart and soul (well, the entire team behind the concert did!) just to make the show as perfect as possible. And there's no denying that every song performed was beyond thrilling! I bet everyone present in the theatre that night can attest to that!

So, on this blog post, I will share some of the photos I took using my camera, just to share a bit of the magnificent concert moments we all witnessed, felt and experienced that very night. I will not share videos tho, but instead, I encourage everyone to watch her upcoming shows / concerts LIVE, because her talent simply magnifies way above and beyond of what you can ever expect! (Well, if you insist... you can just go to YOUTUBE and search for her concert performances yourself as there are a lot of video uploads from her youtuber fans and supporters)

So, again, for those who missed her last concert, please do watch her next time... Maybe we can all go together for Smart Araneta Coliseum or MOA Arena? Yeah!

And for those who were able to watch the Queen Of The Night Jona concert, let's relive the grandiose coronation of our QUEEN JONA (period).....

Here are the photos taken by my Fujifilm X-M1 with no post-enhancements:

Just to give a plus... for those who are wondering, here's Jona's jaw-dropping repertoire:
One night only / Wings

I'll Never Love This Way Again

My Top 5 favorite Tori Kelly Songs... Listen to ALL of them and thank me (and Tori) later!

Because I keep her songs in my heart...
I have to (I MUST) share to the whole world, this magical feeling of listening to Tori Kelly's music...

Way back 2012, there was an incredibly talented Youtube artist named Tori Kelly who went viral for her massively AWESOME cover of Frank Ocean's Thinkin' Bout You. Here's the video:

As of this very moment, this video already earned 25,295,176 views... and counting! Woah! It's a very raw and simple cover. Nothing fancy, just pure talent! Kudos to both Tori and Angie Girl for nailing it!

Fast forward to year 2015, Tori Kelly released her debut album entitled Unbreakable Smile. Just when I thought that "yeah, she CAN sing... yeah, she CAN play guitars..." I actually didn't expect that she CAN compose songs too and SHE'S KILLING IT... She writes NOT just any songs, hers were unbelievably wonderful songs that are catchy & cool... but heartwarming & awe-inspiring at the same time...

So as promised, I will share My Top 5 favorite Tori Kelly Songs that will aim straight to your hearts! It's been really tough to pick just five among ALL of her fantastic compositions. She's too impressive like that! I have decided to share her LIVE performances of each songs... Tori's recorded tracks are extremely beautiful for our ears, but I swear.. her live performances are... definitely MIND-BLOWING!

Alright... Let's give it a GO!

5. Dear No One

Dear No One is my life's theme song! The first time I heard it, I said to myself "THIS IS MY SONG!" I owned it as if it was written for me! Seriously! It's a very straightforward song of all the independent single ladies out there who are secretly wishing/praying for someone to come into their lives who will make them realize that they are also worthy to be taken care of. And hopefully, that person will come at the right place and at the right time. (yeah, fingers pointing at me..)

4. Nobody Love

Nobody Love is a very (unique) likable and fun love song! Severe LSS awaits you after you listen to this! Her vocals are on point too! You will be caught on the groove of this song in no time! I love how Tori Kelly, herself, obviously enjoys every live performances of this song on any stage!

3. Unbreakable Smile

Another catchy song, Unbreakable Smile is the album's title track. A very sensible song from a young song writer. This, for me, is Tori Kelly being transparent and true. This song is spreading good vibes and positivity in a very effective way. Tori's Unbreakable Smile is definitely contagious!

2. Funny

Don't let the title fool you. This is not a typical comedic song, this song is not that funny at all. It relays a deeper message to everyone. It is a gentle reminder of the sad reality that everything goes around and nothing is permanent in this cruel world. We should get up when we fall down; we should smile after we cry; we should let our mistakes change us to be a better person... The lyrics actually rips your soul and tears your heart beautifully. Funny is such a lyrically amazing track.

1. I Was Made For Loving You (feat. Ed Sheeran)

It's a bit hard to find a live version of my TOP1 favorite Tori Kelly song I Was Made For Loving You, so... I grabbed this fancam video of Robyn Leonard. I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH! It's a heartfelt love song and Ed Sheeran is on it, so, what more can I ask for? Tori and Ed are two of the most incredible singer-songwriter of this generation and a song from them is really something to treasure! I was ecstatic when I heard rumors of their collaboration, but I never expected it to be so good... SO, SO GOOD. I nearly cried tears of joy when I first listened to this song. That's how beautiful this song is for me... I Was Made For Loving You surely owns the top spot!
(here's a link of the official audio feat Ed Sheeran: https://youtu.be/dFD02LYcw4k)

Whew! That's a wrap on my TOP 5!

To Tori Kelly, you are beyond amazing! Keep writing and singing songs from your heart... You don't know how much you inspire people with your music and I know that your fans will definitely testify to that. I am praying that some day, (just.. maybe... SOMEDAY...)  I will be lucky enough to see you perform live (front row) in this lifetime! And when that happens, I will sing my heart out to all of your songs until I lose my voice. I love you and your music. ALWAYS.

Just a bonus list... here are 5  Things I like about Tori (beyond her voice):
1. Her big blonde CURLS (It looks real good on her.. so, damn fine!!!)
2. Her Fashion style is always on point!
3. She's really great in playing guitars... talk about TALENT!
4. The way she talks... It's cute!
5. Her dimples on her left cheek..

And here is another bonus video of the best ever Tori Kelly live performance of her song entitled Should've Been Us that I saw on Youtube, I love how the audience harmonized in singing the back up vocals of this song... Even Tori was surprised! I bet this is one hella fun show:

Alright.. Enough of bonuses... Haha!

Just go ahead and drown more of Tori Kelly's goodness via Youtube / Spotify!

OliCity put an ARROW to my heart...

Okay. I know it's late, But forgive me because I have to let this out. I just have to... My heart can't contain the emotions, I think it will already burst out because of my love for these two awesome individuals, Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards for bringing the characters of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak to life.

A little bit of back story, I had watched Arrow before, but I did not pay attention too much because I was more hooked on some Korean dramas and 2 Broke Girls / New Girl. So to say, I got a few glimpse of the first few episodes of Season 1, and that's it. Let me emphasize that I was never introduced to comic characters in my entire childhood. I didn't even know much about the difference of DC or Marvel heroes and villains. I have been missing a whole lot, eh? (I kinda know a little bit now, Google helped me out... hahaha!)

Thank God for iFlix... a mobile app where I can watch some selected TV series and movies. I was able to check out Arrow again, and I did a marathon of episodes from Season 1 to 4! Yes! This time I got so addicted to Arrow, that for days it has been what I watched in the mornings, on my break from work and before I go to sleep.  I have been talking about Arrow to my friends, posting a few on social media about how I love the show... and other stuff that proves that I am becoming a huge fan!

I love the show, I really do. The thrill that the show can give is very fulfilling. I am amazed on how they stitched the present story line to the flashbacks. The entire cast is lovely beyond words (heroes and villains alike). They are perfect in portraying each of their roles! And now I am admitting to the entire cyber-world, that YES, I AM AN ARROW FAN. But going back to the main point, this post is not just about the Green Arrow or the show itself.

It is about OliCity, Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak. (now, I see hearts...)

When Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak had her first appearance on the show, I knew instantly that she is my new favorite character on the series. Thus, making Oliver Queen my second most favorite character on the show. Seriously. She was absolutely adorable and pure. She was the funniest ever! I will always burst into laughter when she throws her punchlines. And it was effortless! Well, I know Emily is putting a lot of effort to make it appear that Felicity is a natural. She raps! She's saying a lot of tech terms (in a very fast phase) that I can't even spell out but she's making it sounds like an everyday term, at least for Felicity. She's killing it!

Felicity Smoak is one very intelligent and strong woman. She may be mostly uncoordinated but she is very witty and smart that it outweighs everything else. She is definitely a vital part of Team Arrow, they'd be lost without her. More than that, she also has a very direct way of saying things as true as they are. She has a very honest and pure heart. And may I say that Felicity's undeniable charm made it's way through the heart of the viewers. No doubt that Felicity is a crowd favorite.

Stephen Amell had said in an interview before that the smile that Oliver Queen showed on his first scene together with Emily Bett was a total break of character. And at that point Oliver rarely smiles. But Oliver smiled at that very moment, a genuine and heartfelt one. Which was a total on screen magic. Their chemistry was instant! I knew at that very first meeting that Felicity will become someone very special for Oliver.

Stephen Amell, playing as a billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, had numerous screen partners... there were Laurel Lance, Sara Lance, Helena Bartinelli and Isabelle Rochev to name a few. But for me, only Felicity Smoak had the sparks. Even John Diggle (played by David Ramsey) knew it.

Oliver and Felicity shared a lot of life and death situation that proved how they really care for each other. As a viewer I can see how Felicity has been deeply in love with Oliver since then but it was a bit hard to see through Oliver if it was love that he feels for her, or just plain care and concern. Not until the final episode of Season 2, where Oliver told Felicity that he loves her to outfox the villain, Slade Wilson. At that moment I knew, it was definitely more than a show for Oliver. It was true from his heart. That moment definitely sealed the deal! OliCity just got too real for me. Hahaha!

And the OliCity love story has discreetly blossomed even more on Season 3. And I can't even get over the kilig feels. Stephen and Emily are so adorable on screen! As I approached the early episodes of Season 4, I can't contain my happiness for OliCity. They were too perfect for each other, that I said to myself that it's ok for me to be single for now as long as Oliver and Felicity are together. Hahaha!

But we all know that towards the end of the 4th Season, OliCity's romantic relationship also ended. Not because of the Green Arrow or the danger of it, but because of Oliver Queen and his issues about telling the truth. In my opinion, Oliver really came close to becoming a professional liar. hahaha! But I still love him despite of that. I know Felicity loves him too, but it's just too painful for her.

So, as painful as it is that Felicity and Oliver already let go of each other, I am not letting go of OliCity. Because I do know that there is still a ray of light for them. It is amazing how Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards had won Ship of the Year Awards for two consecutive years despite their whirlwind romance on the series for OliCity! The fandom has no chill! I am confident that with that much love from fans, OliCity will be back, I don't know when, but I just feel it.

Bottom line is, OliCity put an arrow straight to my heart, no matter what happened to their story and what will happen next. I am now a big big big fan of both Stephen and Emily. It is great how this love team is so real, no pretensions at all. They are very good friends and they genuinely have this strong on screen chemistry. A natural one. They are two awesome individuals, both doing so well with their crafts.  And as I am writing this blog, I must confess that I now stalk both Stephen and Emily on social media. I have been watching their interviews, their comicon moments, checking their Facebook and Twitter pages, etc... BUT I PROMISE... NOT IN A CREEPY WAY. I just want to fill in the gap as I am waiting (patiently) for Arrow Season 5.

To Mr. Stephen Amell, you are beyond gorgeous, (just sayin') but what is more adorable is you are a family man. It is inspiring how you evidently love your wife and daughter. And how proud you are to show it to the world. You are perfect in being the Green Arrow. Congratulations on 5 top notch seasons of Arrow. And I am praying that it crosses the line to more than 5 Seasons.  I guess I would like to request something in behalf of all Arrow fans... Please do more salmon ladder scenes this upcoming season. We miss it badly. Hahaha! Salute to you Mr. Amell, you have never failed your fans. We love you.

To Ms. Emily Bett Rickards, I admire you  A LOT. You being Felicity Smoak is one of the best thing that ever happened in TV history. No kiddin'! The happiness that you brought to the series is unfathomable. Felicity Smoak started as almost a nobody in the comic world, but now. She is a well-loved character, thanks to you. Honestly, I added another bullet point on my bucket list tonight: I dream of personally meeting you, someday.. Can't wait on what's more to come for you in the future. Please know that you have one true fan on this side of the world (Philippines) in me.

Can't wait for Arrow Season 5... This October 5! *happy dance*

MsMightyMau Missing In Action? Part 2: Hello Pinas! I'm back!

Going Back Home! Yahoo!

So, I really had a very hectic schedule on my last week in Dubai.. I was able to wrap up the Kapusong Pinoy Dubai event with ALDUB ME. It was a last hooray before my departure... My very good friends (you guys know who you are) kept throwing surprises after surprises for me on my last few days with them... It was very appreciated, as I always say, it's nakaka-artista. hahaha!

Last March 12, 2016 I flew from DXB to SIN to MNL via Singapore Air. I loved my "me time" at that point because I was able to chill and relax for the first time after that turn of events.. I stopped over Singapore only to have a big bowl of authentic Laksa, and that was successfully achieved! Hashtag Cravings Satisfied! Yay!

I'm Baaaack!

The plane landed in MNL March 13, and I was so happy because my nephew/godson MattMatt (whom I was able to see for the first time) picked me up at the airport with my Lola, Tita and my Sister. This is what I love most about coming home. Being with the rest of the fam...

I feel so blessed to be back home. For the 1st month of staying here in Pinas. I stayed home and I rarely go out. (That's so NOT me) And I did enjoy my "bum-self" for quite a while... I was able to catch-up with a few of my friends from the past too! hahaha! But I am overjoyed to see my BHEZ, my oppa bestfriend from S.Korea, Peter! Hahaha!

Friends are easy to find, yes, but that one bestfriend is really something rare and precious! I am happy that even if our vacation plans didn't go as planned... We were able to see each other, have good talks about life and laugh about our kalokohans just like the good old days! I pray for my Bhez to be successful in life for his future and for his family. He's such a good person, someone I trust so much and who understands me for who I am.

I'm also grateful that I was also able to catch up with 2 of my fave celebs EVER... Mr. Enchong Dee and Ms. Jona. Two of the kindest and realest peeps in the biz! They never forget!

Chong and a few our other good friends dined out last Holy Week (Maundy Thursday) for a quick get-together. It was fun and intimate! I appreciated that he gave time to meet us just because I'm back in town.. I'm touched! Seriously! He always go out of his way to make you feel that you are important to him as he was important to you. Such a very fine man! I salute you Chong and I always got your back no matter what! Love you!

Ms. Jona, (naks, Ms. daw.. haha) on the other hand, has always been one of my closest, if not the closest friend in the biz... We always make fun of me being a kaladkarin, or Dora The Explorer because it's very easy to drag me along to anywhere! Truth is I'm only kaladkarin exclusively for them, because  to be honest, Jones and Mommy A has always been a family to me... I am thankful to them for everything! I'm happy for what has been going on for her career and I pray for both Mommy A and Jones to stay happy and blessed..

Well, Alden Richards and I just met in Dubai last March so nagpapamiss muna ako.. hahaha! But I am looking forward to meet DanRich.. I haven't had the chance to meet my other fave, Ms. Erich Gonzales (and Danile Matsunaga) yet, because I'm a bit busy now with my new job. But if given the chance, I would love to!

*On that note, I also wish to meet Sue Ramirez in person... Sana.. and Maine Mendoza of course...

Congratulations, you're hired!

When I felt like being unemployed is already sinking in... And I only have a few bucks left in my pocket... I thought: maybe it's time... Time to look for a new job. Well actually, before going back to PH, a friend of mine had offered a job for me... However something tragic happened that's why it didn't push through. So I decided to check other options. Apparently, it will be so much easier for me to go back to my previous career of being a Call Center Agent. But this time, I said to myself that I will never ever go back to graveyard shift.

 (credits: Charm)
Thankfully, I came across a job posting ad online for a day shift account for a prime BPO company somewhere in Shaw Blvd. With God's grace, I was able to get the job (contractual) and started with training again in no time.. It was a good feeling that I am a part of something again. Honestly, it felt like it was the first time I ever get hired again. Just when I thought that I will never ever go back to being a call center agent, I can now say that I am happy to be a part of this industry one more time!

And this is why MsMightyMau is missing in action for quite a while now... I decided to focus more on being an employee for now, until I am able to cope up with the processes of the new job. I am proud to say that I do love the culture and the environment of my new workplace. Everyone seems to be supportive and nurturing... There's no wall to break, there's no wall at all... I am at ease and I am loving it...

What's Now and What's Next...

Having a new job in a new company made me strive again to be a better version of myself. I really do miss blogcons and events, however my current schedule will not permit these extra curricular activities yet. But I am not backing down this time. I VOW to regularly update the blog from this day on...

After all, I will not put to waste everything that MsMightyMau.com has already achieved. I will try to go back in the circle as soon as possible... But for now, I will enjoy taking in calls and getting my salary every pay-outs... hahaha! Stay tuned in to this blog for more updates...

Thank you so much to everyone who have read Part 1 and 2 of this personal blog post... It means a lot... a whole lot to me... I am happy to be able to share a little bit of my personal life in the online world again..

And finally, for everything I am and for everything I will be, I lift it all up to You my Lord!

Stay MIGHTY fine everyone! Toodles!
